The concessional contribution (CC) cap will be indexed from 1 July 2026, increasing to $32,500. This change is linked to growth in Average Weekly Ordinary Time Earnings (AWOTE), with the latest figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics confirming the adjustment.
As a result, the non-concessional contribution (NCC) cap will also rise to $130,000 (four times the CC cap).
For those eligible to use the bring-forward rule, the higher NCC cap will increase the maximum contributions as follows:
$390,000 if total super balance (TSB) is below $1.84 million
$260,000 if TSB is between $1.84 million and $1.97 million
$130,000 if TSB is between $1.97 million and $2.1 million
Why this matters:
Higher contribution caps provide greater opportunities to boost retirement savings, particularly for those planning to make larger one-off contributions.
Looking ahead, the CC cap may be indexed again from 1 July 2027 if wage growth continues to rise through to November 2026.
